Golf Course
is located
in Layton,
Utah and
continues to
be one of
the Salt
Lake
Valley's
finest
tracks.
This 7100
Yard
traditional
style layout
has a very
county-club
like feel,
yet quite
laid-back as
soon as you
pull into
the parking
lot. The
course is
nicely
tucked away
in a serene
hidden
valley on
the east
bench of
Layton about
30 minutes
north of
downtown
Salt Lake.
The course
begins with
a tricky
downhill par
4 with a
fantastic
view of the
Great Salt
Lake. From
here you
have a good
idea of how
the course
is going to
play out,
and what
this round
of golf has
in store for
you. Valley
View Golf
Course has
consistently
been ranked
by Golf
Digest as a
"Super Value
Golf Course"
for many
years and
you will see
why
quickly.
The
superintendent
Steve
Bennett
maintains a
high
standard,
with superb
rolling
greens,
cross-cut
fairways and
nice tee
boxes.
The entire
course
follows a
classic,
tree-lined
design and a
wonderful
setting to
play golf
in, but
perhaps one
single
"Signature
Hole" is a
toss up
between the
par 3
seventh and
the par 4
fifteenth.
Both are
fine golf
holes and
intimidating
to say the
least. The
front and
the back
nine have
their own
distinct
holes to
claim the
title. Go
