Lakeside
Golf Course
meanders
through the
marshlands
of West
Bountiful,
Utah on the
shores of
the Great
Salt Lake.
The outward
nine is
player
friendly and
walking is
quite common
at Lakeside
Golf Course.
A classic
style design
features
tall mature
trees
throughout
the layout
and a good
mix in
length of
holes and
scoring
opportunities.
The inward nine gets quite a bit tougher, with the locally dubbed "Amen
Corner"
begins a
3-hole
stretch of
tough holes.
Begging with
the Par-3
11th, which
is not long
but a forced
carry over
wetlands can
make for a
difficult
shot.
The par-5
12th
features
water
hazards
throughout
the left
side, and
two river
crossings
through the
landing area
from the tee
and again on
the approach
shot.
Water again
skirts the
entire right
side of the
green. As if
the 12th
hole was not
enough, the
par-4 13th
is short
with a
lay-up off
the tee, but
a thin
fairway and
water
hazards
again
everywhere
this stretch
of holes
usually
makes or
breaks a
round at
Lakeside
Golf Course. |
