El Monte
Golf Course
is one of
Utah's
oldest golf
courses, and
in one of
the most
beautiful
settings
along the
Wasatch
Front.
A quaint 9
hole,
classic
style golf
course has
rich history
with its
historical
stone
clubhouse
and past
tournaments
and the
former
home of the
Ogden
Country
Club.
The course begins with a menacing shot on the first tee. "The Tree"
is a
notorious,
huge oak
tree sitting
right in the
middle of
the fairway,
and is
intimidating
enough for
many players
to be quite
nervous on
what club to
hit.
The hole is
a 530 yard
par 5, so
you must hit
driver for
any chance
at birdie.
A high shot
carrying 240
yards is
needed to
clear "The
Tree"
safely.
Many players
can hit a
draw or fade
and clear
the wood as
well.
El Monte is quite fun for all levels of players, the course is not long
and allows
for some
error for
intermediate
and
beginning
golfers.
There are interesting hole challenges for better players, and will test
you shot
making
ability on a
few of the
holes. Enjoy
