TalonsCove at Saratoga Springs, located 30 minutes south of Salt Lake City,
Utah opened all 18 holes late last summer, and has been a stunning surprise
to many curious golfers. The 6931 yard layout is well on it's way to
being one of Utah's most definitive golf courses and a "Must Play" for the
upcoming season. This fabulous new Gene Bates design challenges the mind and
strength of golfers with a visual barrage of exceptional golf holes. |

The outward nine offers a nice warm up before unleashing its claws upon
you with few simple holes. While the first three play seemingly short, the holes
are by no means easy birdies. Shot placement is key and driver is not
always the play off the tee. The front nine is defined by 3 jaw-dropping par
3's, that keep you struggling to keep your focus on the golf.
Incredible views of Mount Timpanogos and Utah Lake serve as the backdrop for
many holes at TalonsCove. One of the menacing par 3's in particular is the 240
yard sixth, from the tee a quite visually intimidating shot, and it looks
like forever to get to the green. This stunning hole usually has a
prevailing wind and club selection is most difficult. The large green is
well protected by clover-like signature Gene Bates bunkers and is easily a
3-club green. Once you have reached the putting surface, subtle undulations make
for tough birdies. TalonsCove played host the 2005 Utah Open. Be

time this spring.
