Golf Week magazine has released its
annual state-by-state list of the best
public access golf courses in America. The
five courses honored in Utah for 2006 are:
Golfweek's 285 evaluators considered the
following criteria in selecting these golf
courses: a. ease and intimacy of
routing b. integrity of original design
(designed pre-1960) c. quality of feature
shaping (courses designed post-1960) d.
natural setting and overall land plan e.
interest of greens and surrounding contours
f. variety and memorability of par threes g.
variety and memorability of par fours h.
variety and memorability of par fives i.
basic quality of conditioning j. landscape
and tree management and k. "walk in the
park" test; is it a compelling outdoor
experience?
